Veteran Madis Põri

12.03.2022

In 2012, Madis Põri participated as a combat pioneer in the mission to Afghanistan and lost both legs in contact with an explosive device. Strong will power and positive attitude towards life helped him to get used to the prostheses and learn to walk again, and even that at quite an athletic pace. Today Madis takes 10,000-30,000 steps a day. Also, the master of prostheses profession started out of an interest of constantly improving their prostheses. In this way, dozens of foot prostheses and hundreds of orthopedic sole supports are made every year at the East Tallinn Central Hospital Rehabilitation Clinic. In addition to his skills as a prosthetist, Madis shares his personal experiences with anyone in need to help them better adapt to life after amputation.
