Donations

The Estonian Society of Wounded Soldiers uses the donations collected from the sales of Blue Hepatica products to aid the veterans and their families. In addition, the Society of Wounded Soldiers supports strengthening the field of rehabilitation as it also allows to support the injured fighters better.

The first charity campaign to support veterans was held in April 2014.

The first campaign was more successful than expected. In just two weeks, more than 67 967 euros was raised in order to buy a much-needed Anti-Gravity Treadmill in East Tallinn Central Hospital Rehabilitation Clinic. In addition, the volume of donations allowed the clinic to purchase other rehabilitation equipment which are helpful to all of their patients.

In 2015 the donations collected from the sales of Blue Hepatica insignia were directed to Haapsalu Neurological Rehabilitation Center in order to purchase a robotic walking aid. More than 100 235 euros was collected to buy a modern walking robot needed to treat paralysis caused by the damage to the spinal cord and brain.

Since the spring of 2016, one of the goals of the campaign has been expanding the range of supported activities and beneficiaries. Nearly 82 000 euros was collected as donations which were directed to The Estonian Society of Wounded Soldiers to support veterans and their relatives in rehabilitation, sports and educational activities.

In addition, the Association supported Pärnu Hospital´s Rehabilitation and Well-Being Center with acquisition of muscle strength training equipment and helping The Association of Physiotherapists to organize training sessions for specialists in this field. The NGO Peaasjad was supported in their activities on conducting the topics of mental health of young people in a modern and open manner, contributing primarily to youth e-counseling and developing training opportunities.

In the spring of 2017, almost 75 000 euros was collected as donations from the sale of the Blue Hepatica products. In addition to supporting injured veterans, the donations helped with the construction of an outdoor exercise area for people with mobility disabilities in Haapsalu, acquisition of a disabled lift for pool access in East-Viru Central Hospital Rehabilitation Department, and support the activities of the NGO Peaasjad.

In 2018, almost 70 000 euros was collected as donations from the sale of the Blue Hepatica symbol. In addition to supporting veterans, the collected donations helped to build an outdoor gym in the city of Tapa, to acquire rehabilitation equipment for University of Tartu Clinic and Rakvere Hospital, and support the activities of the NGO Peaasjad in the promotion of men’s mental health.

In 2019, almost 85 000 euros was collected as donations from the sale of the Blue Hepatica symbol. In addition to supporting veterans, the donations helped to purchase rehabilitation equipment to South Estonian Hospital, to build an outdoor gym in the city of Võru, Estonian Disabled Sports Union to organize trainings and competitions of sitting volleyball, and NGO Peaasjad to promote the field of mental health of men and youth.

In 2020, almost 50 000 euros was collected as donations from the sale of the Blue Hepatica symbol. In addition to supporting veterans, the donations helped to purchase rehabilitation equipment for Kuressaare Hospital, to build an outdoor gym in the city of Narva, Estonian Disabled Sports Union to organize trainings and competitions of sitting volleyball, and NGO Peaasjad to promote the field of mental health of men and youth.

In 2021, almost 87 000 euros was collected as donations from the sale of the Blue Hepatica products. In addition to supporting veterans, the donations helped to purchase rehabilitation equipment for Narva Hospital, to build an outdoor gym in the city of Viljandi, aid Estonian Disabled Sports Union to develop sporting opportunities for people with disabilities, and NGO Peaasjad to promote the field of mental health.

In 2022, 103 000 euros was collected from the sale of the Blue Hepatica symbol. In addition to supporting Estonian and Ukrainian veterans, the donations helped to acquire Gloreha Sinfonia, a robotic device for upper limb rehabilitation, for the Rehabilitation Department of the East Tallinn Central Hospital.
