25.06.2014 Handover of the mobility aid device purchased with the proceeds of the veterans’ charity campaign
Today the Estonian Association of Wounded Warriors handed over the mobility aid device purchased with the proceeds of the first veterans’ charity campaign “LET US SALUTE!” to the Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation of the East-Tallinn Hospital. Almost 68,000 euros were collected with the sales of Blue Hepatica flower pins and with other donations for purchasing the medical rehabilitation device for wounded veterans and other patients.
“Experiences show that cooperation paves way for good thoughts and the best solutions. The mobility aid device and other devices purchased for the proceeds help improve the quality of life and faster recovery of patients. We are very grateful to the initiative of the Estonian Association of Wounded Warriors,” said Dr. Ralf Allikvee, Chairman of the East-Tallinn Hospital Board.
On behalf of the Hospital he also expressed his gratitude to the association of veterans as the affiliate of the campaign, and the Selver retail chain for making the biggest donation – 7000 euros.
“The purchase of the mobility aid device makes our campaign an outstanding accomplishment. Thank you all for your donations! We hope that the success of last year’s campaign will engage even more people in the future,” said Staff Sergeant Rasmus Penno, veteran and representative of the Estonian Association of Wounded Warriors.
The campaign invited people to wear Blue Hepatica flower pins and make donations to purchase a medical rehabilitation device, a necessary tool for the medical rehabilitation of wounded veterans. The successful results of the campaign were achieved by selling nearly 34 000 Blue Hepatica flower pins and from other donations.
