03.06.2014 The 1st charity campaign in support of veterans gathered nearly 68,000 euros

With the charity campaign “LET US SALUTE” organised for the first time this April, 67,967 euros were gathered for the purchase of post-amputation mobility aids for wounded veterans for the East-Tallinn Hospital Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation. However, the volume of the proceeds enabled the Clinic to purchase additional rehabilitation aids to be used by all patients.

“The great success of the campaign shows that people care about supporting veterans and other people who need special care. Thank you once again for you donations,” said Gustav Kutsar, Chairman of the Estonian Association of Wounded Warriors.

The campaign invited people to wear Blue Hepatica flower pins and make donations to purchase a medical rehabilitation device, a necessary tool for the medical rehabilitation of wounded veterans.

The successful results of the campaign were achieved by selling nearly 34,000 Blue Hepatica flower pins and from other donations. Our great sponsor Selver made a monetary donation of 7000 euros. Initially we hoped to collect at least 60,000 euros, yet higher amounts of donations allow the Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation of the East-Tallinn Hospital to purchase additional devices.

Handmade Hepatica flower lapel pins distributed by the Hea Hoog Foundation were sold by all Selver outlets, regional units of the Estonian Defence League, and by volunteers of the Women’s Voluntary Defence Organization throughout Estonia from 14 to 27 April.
